Nvidia DLSS 5 Leaked via NBA2K27 and Optiscaler

Leaked DLSS 5 files reveal massive power spikes and performance hits on RTX 5090 GPUs when running the new neural rendering model.

A leaked version of Nvidia's DLSS 5 model, discovered within NBA2K27, has been integrated into the Optiscaler package for use across multiple titles. This neural rendering technology officially supports only the RTX 50-series, utilizing specialized Tensor Cores to power its underlying diffusion model during execution.

Testing reveals significant performance impacts, with the RTX 5090 Founders Edition seeing drops up to 49% in Hogwarts Legacy and 42% in Control. The MSI RTX 5090 Lightning Z, featuring dual 12V-2x6 connectors and a 1000W limit, saw power draw spike from 580W to 723W in Cyberpunk 2077 when the new DLSS 5 model was enabled.

Nvidia's technical documentation indicates the DLSS 5 model requires 8ms to execute on a 4K frame. While the Founders Edition is limited to a 575W TGP, the Lightning Z's Extreme vBIOS allows for higher consumption, reaching 802W in Control, highlighting the massive power requirements of this next-generation neural rendering tech.
