Qualcomm has announced initial details for its next Snapdragon generation, set to debut at the Snapdragon Summit starting September 22, 2026. The company plans to release two new chips, including a flagship 2nm model and a more affordable 3nm variant.
The 4th generation Oryon CPU features eight cores, with two Prime cores reaching clock speeds up to 5 GHz. This exceeds the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5's 4.61 GHz, the Apple A19 Pro's 4.26 GHz, and the MediaTek Dimensity 9500's 4.21 GHz maximum clock speeds.
A new FlexCache architecture will be available to all eight cores, replacing the previous split 24MB L2 and 8MB System Level Cache design. This update aims to reduce DRAM access by keeping data closer to the SoC and CPU to improve overall device efficiency.
