Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Sets Pre-Order Record

Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 series hit a record 1.44 million pre-orders in South Korea, surpassing the previous Galaxy S26 peak.

Samsung Electronics has launched the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8. During the South Korean pre-order window from July 28 to August 3, 2026, the company secured 1.44 million units, setting a new record for Galaxy smartphones.

The eighth-generation foldables saw a 38 percent increase over the 1.04 million pre-orders for the Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. The new lineup includes an Ultra model starting at 1,610 Euro, featuring up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage for the Fold 8 series.

This performance beat the Galaxy S26 series record by 90,000 units. While official sales began in Germany on August 5 and start in South Korea on August 7, Samsung has not yet disclosed specific demand figures for Germany or global pre-order volumes.
