Apple Explores Round Watches and Fitness Rings

Apple is considering new wearable designs and AI health integrations for future Apple Watch models and potential display-less devices.

Apple is exploring a major expansion of its wearable lineup, including potential round smartwatch designs and display-less wrist devices. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports the company is also considering a fitness ring and new price tiers above the Ultra series.

The upcoming Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, expected in September 2026, will likely feature a more powerful System-in-a-Package. Apple is also evaluating the return of ceramic cases by 2027, alongside new colors, bands, and advanced health-related upgrades.

Following a 2025 restructuring, Health and Fitness teams now report to Eddy Cue as Apple prepares to integrate AI into the Health app. This shift coincides with the rollout of a new LLM-based Siri AI to enhance the capabilities of Apple’s health ecosystem.
