NVIDIA has announced a $3.5 billion investment in MediaTek through the purchase of convertible bonds to expand the NVLink Fusion ecosystem. The collaboration features the MediaTek-designed GB10 SoC, powering NVIDIA's RTX Spark and DGX Spark mini workstations.
MediaTek will offer the NVLink Fusion platform to clients like Google, enabling non-NVIDIA processors to join data center fabrics. The framework utilizes NVLink-C2C for high-bandwidth connectivity and supports photonic or copper interconnects for scale-up.
The partnership introduces NVHBM, integrating controllers into 3D stacks to boost bandwidth by 30% and reduce power by 15%. This allows customers to integrate custom XPU designs with NVIDIA's advanced memory, packaging, and rack-scale connectivity technologies.
