Rambus Unveils DDR5 9600 Client Memory Chipset
Rambus Inc. announced its DDR5 9600 Client Memory Module Chipset for future AI PCs, supporting module speeds of up to 9600 MT/s.
On July 8, 2026, Rambus Inc. (NASDAQ: RMBS) announced its DDR5 9600 Client Memory Module Chipset, a solution designed for CUDIMM, CQDIMM, and CSODIMM modules in future generation AI PCs. The chipset supports memory operations from 8000 to 9600 MT/s and features the Gen 2 Client Clock Driver (CKD02), which retimes, conditions, and distributes the processor clock to DRAM devices. It also includes the PMIC5120 Power Management IC to step down system voltage for module components and a Serial Presence Detect (SPD) Hub for module identification, configuration, and telemetry. Rami Sethi, SVP and GM of Memory Interface Chips at Rambus, and Jeff Janukowicz, research vice president at IDC, are associated with the launch. The Gen 2 CKD02 ensures signal integrity while the PMIC5120 powers active chips on the module.
