AWS and NVIDIA expanded their 16-year partnership on August 26, 2026, to deploy 2 million additional GPUs, including Blackwell Ultra and Rubin models, through 2028. This follows a 2026 plan to add 1 million GPUs and introduces NVIDIA Vera CPU infrastructure.
The collaboration features new Amazon EC2 G7 instances using RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell GPUs, offering 4.6x better AI inference than G6 models. Additionally, NVIDIA Nemotron models are now on Bedrock, while Amazon Robotics adopts the NVIDIA Isaac and Jetson platforms.
For the U.S. government, the firms will build AI factories with 100,000 GPUs for national security. Technical gains include 9x faster vector indexing on OpenSearch and 3.7x faster EMR data processing via cuDF, as confirmed by CEOs Matt Garman and Jensen Huang.
